Joy Frampton
_
While living on a small holding in South West Wales, with
her husband Tim and two sons, Joy was given two Jacob sheep, Gert and Daisy,
and she endeavoured to learn to spin.
Following on from this she spent two years on a Creative Embroidery
Course and then enrolled on a full-time HND in Design Crafts at Carmarthen
College of Art, West Wales.
The influence of Gert and Daisy and the use of natural fibres have been a major inspiration for Joy in her work which has included the dyeing and manipulation of silk and woollen fibres. More recently Nuno felting has taken over her life. She loves the versatility of feltmaking, incorporating contemporary methods and materials into this ancient craft. Living in East Devon Joy works from home, painting, dyeing and feltmaking. Incorporating a variety of methods of machine and hand embroidery, she creates Nuno scarves, hats, jackets, wallhangings and accessories. To contact Joy:
